Welcome to Mark Day School!
As you search for the school that will be the right match for your child and family, we invite you to learn more about our special community. We hope you will visit our campus so you can see firsthand what makes our school such an exciting place to learn and grow.
Every aspect of our school community is mission-driven and guided by the Seven Pillars of Character: caring, courage, citizenship, respect, responsibility, honesty, and fairness. In addition to a strong academic program, Mark Day School strives to create an inclusive and engaging environment, build a community that fosters critical thinking in the classroom and instill empathy and citizenship on the playground and beyond.
We invite you to explore how our four literacies: cross-cultural, media and information, ecological, and social, emotional and ethical, are woven through the curriculum at every level. Ask about our global partnerships with schools in Beijing, Costa Rica and South Africa. Learn about our one-to-one laptop and iPad programs and talk to our students about their Media Literacy projects. Explore our school garden and learn about how sustainability initiatives permeate the school. Discuss stereotypes and gender roles with our 5th graders, and ask kindergartners what they have in their social-emotional “toolboxes.”
Visit us and see our community in action! We welcome students from all over the Bay Area,
drawing largely from Marin and Sonoma counties and northern San Francisco.A typical visit includes a greeting from Head of School Joe Harvey, a tour of the campus, classroom visits and an overview of the admission process. Meet with students, parents, faculty, and administrators—they are our best ambassadors!
Throughout your admissions journey, we hope you will contact us with questions. We look forward to meeting you.
