7th Grade High School Family Information Night - Wednesday, May 24, 6:30-8:00pm

Seventh grade families, including their 7th grade children, are invited to learn what to expect as your approach the high school decision process. Special guests, including alumni students currently enrolled in area high schools, will also share some perspectives. Together, we will then answer your questions and facilitate discussion. Knowledge is power, and although it may seem early to begin thinking about life after Mark Day School, parents and students have found that preliminary information has helped diffuse concern while setting a constructive course moving forward. We will also address and deconstruct some myths and stereotypes about the high school process. In many ways, the research, application, and decision-making associated with the high school process is a culmination of the skills and attitudes your child has cultivated over the years at Mark Day School. Please RSVP via this link.

Grandparents & Special Friends' Day - Send Your Invites!

GPSF Day is April 21st! By now you should have received 2 invitations by mail. We ask that you mail them as soon as possible to whomever you would like to accompany your child on that day. RSVP deadline is April 5th. If your child is in K or 1st grade and will not have a grandparent or special friend attending, please notify your child's teacher if you would like them to have an Upper School "special friend" to accompany them for the day. Students in other grades who don't have a guest will be paired with a guest of one of their classmates that day. We look forward to welcoming your family and/or friend to this celebration of family, community, and all things Mark Day School. As a reminder, only those volunteering at the event are permitted to attend and we need many helping hands to make this day great. Please follow this link to sign up or email Rosemary Hattenbach at rosemaryevents1@icloud.com if you would like to participate as a volunteer.

Benefoot Soccer Shoe Drive Benefiting Kliptown Youth Program (KYP) - Through 24

Benefoot, a nonprofit organization started by 8th grader Caitlin Evers that strives to give underprivileged soccer players the proper equipment they need to work toward their dreams, will be holding its first shoe drive on March 21-24. We will be collecting used soccer cleats to give to our friends at KYP. KYP has hundreds of soccer players in their program, yet most kids do not have the proper shoes to play. Subsequently, these children go onto the field in worn out sneakers or even barefoot. Bins will be placed by the front office and at the parking lot side of the Middle Division hallway. Help support our friends at KYP! Please contact Caitlin Evers (Caitlin@benefit.org) with any questions, or visit www.benefoot.org.
