Amphitheater & Quad
Our amphitheater is where we gather together, cross paths, share our talents and news, and make some of our best memories together--where we say hello to kindergarteners at the Welcome Assembly, say farewell to the 8th graders on Closing Day, tell jokes and sing, celebrate chess championships and welcome our partnership delegations.
Twice a week, we gather in our amphitheater for assembly, where we make announcements, share projects, and celebrate our community. We cherish these moments that feel like family gatherings.
Public speaking is a pronounced fear - and one that Mark Day students have many opportunities to practice and perfect. Whether they are making an announcement about an upcoming sports game or professing a New Year's resolution in kindergarten, assembly is one of the opportunities to speak before a large audience in a safe space.
Our quad is where we gather together, cross paths, share our talents and news, and make some of our best memories together. Students play and eat lunch in the quad on a daily basis. Many lay down blankets and picnic on the grass. Others sit at the tables beneath the large umbrellas to play cards. It's a wonderful place to be between classes and to walk through on the way to class.
