![]() Each fall, the Board of Trustees initiates a year-long process to perpetuate a diverse board with the appropriate skills and experience to advance Mark Day School's long term health and strategic initiatives. This process, led by the Board's Governance Committee, involves great care and consideration.
It is with pleasure that we write to welcome new trustees to the Mark Day School Board for the 2021-22 school year:
Sara Egide, parent of Charlotte (1st), joins the Board with experience as both an attorney and a small business owner. She serves as Senior Corporate Counsel for Personal Capital Corp. and is owner of the Dailey Method in Novato. Sara earned her law degree from Santa Clara University and a BA in political science with a minor in law and society from UC San Diego. Sara is eager to "make a lasting difference at a school that I hope my grandchildren will be able to attend someday."
Rika Gopinath, parent of Avi (5th) and Nik (2nd), joins the Board with strong advocacy, strategic planning and communications skills, and looks forward to helping steward the future of the school. She is a dedicated community organizer, having co-founded YardSmartMarin.org and served as Co-Chair of Moms Advocating Sustainability, among others. Rika earned her BA in political science at the University of Florida and is currently the Communications Manager for Friedman's Home Improvement.
Megan Mariani, parent of Ryan (3rd) and Pierce (1st), is excited to bring her extensive finance expertise to further the mission of Mark Day School. Megan earned her BA and MBA from Stanford and currently serves as an independent finance consultant for GAP, Inc. She is affiliated with a number of nonprofits including the Stanford GSB Alumni Consulting Team and the Godmothers of St. Vincent, and has volunteered on campus in many capacities including hot lunch, admissions, and the spring fundraiser.
Scott Lamson, Mark Day alumnus from the class of 2006, looks forward to sharing his leadership, team building, finance and business experience with the Board as our Alumni Trustee. Scott serves as a Private Wealth Advisor at Morgan Stanley and holds a BA in psychology with a minor in economics from Duke University. Scott says, "When my parents made the decision to move me to Mark Day from my previous school, it was the single greatest parenting decision they ever made." He also serves on the Board of Ranchin' Vets and the Board of Duke NorCal Alumni.
Silvia Buckley, our Faculty Trustee, is a member of the world language department, teaching Spanish in grades K-6. Originally from Peru, Silvia is a native Spanish speaker with more than 25 years of teaching experience. She has been at Mark Day since 2019 and came to us most recently from Saint Hilary School. Silvia creates a classroom environment that combines genuine warmth and challenge for every child.

She is currently a member of the Parents' Association Board as a co-VP of events, has served as room parent coordinator for three years, and has helped with the spring fundraisers and hot lunch. Pam studied at culinary school in Paris, France.
Welcoming a new slate of trustees is always bittersweet, because at the same moment we bid farewell to an exceptional group of outgoing trustees who have made significant contributions to Mark Day School. Completing their terms this year are Nish Budhraja '06, Robert Hee, Michelle Mulkey, Steve Polsky, Carl Reichardt, Shalu Saluja, PA President Rachel Street, Peter Supino, and faculty trustee David St. Martin. We especially want to acknowledge and thank Robert Hee, who served as Board President for four years.

Kind regards,
