The True Blue Fund is the foundation of Mark Day School's giving program. The annual fund touches all corners of school life, providing funds for faculty professional development, bringing outside speakers to campus, sets for school plays, and more.

By design and as at most independent schools, Mark Day School's tuition does not fully fund the cost of a Mark Day School education and the True Blue Fund helps to make up this difference. The fund kicks off each year in October, and more than 500 parents, alumni, past parents, grandparents, faculty/staff, and friends all play a part in supporting the school. All school families are asked to contribute, and every gift makes a difference because it demonstrates a commitment to meeting the school’s needs.

The 2017–2018 True Blue Fund is co-chaired by parents Eileen Sheldon, Rob Blechman, and Peter Supino, and our goals are 100 percent family participation and $730,000. The annual fund closes each year on May 31.

The Eighth Pillar

Donors who contribute $10,000 per year--or $100,000 over the course of their family's attendance at Mark Day School--are recognized members of the Eighth Pillar. They are exemplars of Mark Day School's unofficial Eighth Pillar of philanthropy and are honored each spring by the Board of Trustees at a special donor event.
